Board and CEO Coaching 


CEOs and Board members hold unique roles. Their positions give them enormous influence over the success of the enterprise, and they face challenges that are different from those facing other positions of leadership in the organization.  Cremer International understands the distinctive issues they face, including the CEO/Board relationship, succession planning, strategy formulation, oversight, and board and C-suite team dynamics.
Blind spots are less obvious when things are going well.  It is easy for the CEO or a Board member to become almost strictly inward looking, especially when they have been successful.  But these blind spots can become devastating when performance moves in other directions.  A good, neutral third party assessment is a clear reality check for the CEO or Board member.
 
Additionally, every single person inside the company has an agenda of some sort.  This makes the coaching environment a rare and safe place to think through various topics against a framework of what is in the CEO's or Board member's best interest.  The coach is only concerned with the CEO's or Board member's wild success as leader or advisor of the company.
 
In the most effective development operations, the CEO, Board Chair and Board members share leadership.  Leadership implies power.  Many leaders have difficulty sharing power, however, because they mistakenly believe that doing so means giving up some or all.  In reality, their power is enhanced when they effectively collaborate with others to accomplish the organization's vision.
